HISTORY

Durban Engineering was established in 1969 and was a small-scale operation. By 1975 a change in ownership saw the company name change to ND Engineering with its focus being predominantly servicing the paper and pulp industry. The years 1992 to 1996 saw Sunds Defibrator of the Rauma Group acquiring ND Engineering, and the following years from 1996 to 1999 brought a name change for Sunds Defibrator to Valmet. 1999 to 2013 welcomed more change, with the Rauma Group of Sweden and the Valmet group of Finland merging to form Metso Corporation. During this time, in 2004 Elvis Green acquired 30% of shares in Metso ND. The year 2013 rung in with Elvis Green acquiring the remaining 70% of shares in Metso ND, making him the sole owner. In this process the name was restored to its original name – ND Engineering.
